Can you get machinery into a tight section?

That's what the fleet is picked for. Our 2.7 tonne diggers are 1.5m wide so they fit within most property setbacks, and the tracked dumper moves material across site without tracking it through the house.

Yes. We advise at the design stage, carry out earthworks and drilling, construct retaining walls to your specifications, provide drainage solutions, and cover the final touches such as lawn preparation, concrete and hydroseeding.

How much does a retaining wall cost?

It is priced by the square metre of wall face, and the range is wide - height, length, the material (timber pole, blockwork), the ground behind it and the drainage all move the number. We advise at the design stage and give you a free quote for your actual site rather than a guess.

Do I need consent for a retaining wall?

Often, yes. As a rule of thumb, a wall over 1.5m, or one carrying extra load above it (a driveway or building), generally needs building consent - but this varies by council, so always confirm with yours. We point you the right way at the design stage.

How much does hydroseeding cost?

Hydroseeding is usually priced by the square metre, and the rate drops as the area gets bigger. Small jobs carry a minimum charge. The area, the access and whether the ground needs prep all move the price, so the accurate number is a free quote for your site.

Is hydroseeding better than turf?

Accepted Answer

For a large area, hydroseeding gives you even coverage and quick germination for a fraction of the cost of turf. Turf still suits a small, instant, high-profile lawn. Over a big section or paddock, hydroseeding wins on cost and coverage.

Why does my driveway keep turning to mud?

Almost always because there is no proper base and the water has nowhere to go. Metal laid on soft ground gets pushed into it, and standing water churns it into mud - so another load of gravel on top just disappears. The lasting fix is to reshape, base and drain it first.

How much does a gravel driveway cost?

Most of the cost is under the surface - the shaping, the compacted base and the drainage. Length, width, ground conditions and access decide it. A driveway that is just metal tipped on soft ground is cheap and short-lived; one built on a proper base costs more and lasts. We quote each one on its own site, free.

How is earthworks priced - by the hour or the job?

Both, depending on the work. Open-ended work (digging, clearing, general site work) is often charged by the hour for the machine and operator; a defined job with a clear scope (a driveway, a wall, a section prepped to a spec) is usually a fixed quote. Estimates are always free.
