What drives the price per square metre
Hydroseeding is usually priced by the square metre, and the rate drops as the area gets bigger. It's one of the cheapest ways to establish grass over a decent-sized area - but the honest answer to "what will it cost me" is that it depends on the site. Here's what moves the number.
What you're actually paying for
The mix (seed, mulch and fertiliser), the machine time to spray it, and the travel to your site. On top of that, the state of the ground matters: a surface that's already shaped and ready is a straight spray, while a site that needs prepping, cultivating or topsoil first is more work before the seed ever goes down.
The things that push it up or down
Area is the big one - the bigger the job, the lower the rate per square metre. Small jobs carry a minimum charge because it still takes a trip and a setup to spray them. Access, slope, the seed mix you need, and whether the ground needs prep all move the price.
