Fast, even grass - sprayed straight onto prepared ground

Hydroseeding is the quickest, most cost-effective way to get grass established over a large area. A specially blended mix of seed, mulch, fertiliser and water is sprayed straight onto prepared ground in a single pass - you get rapid germination and far better coverage than hand seeding.

We run our own hydroseeding unit as part of the fleet, so we can take a job from earthworks and site prep right through to final grass establishment. One crew, start to finish.

When hydroseeding is the right call

Finishing a new build and want the section in grass fast. Stabilising exposed soil so the next rain doesn't wash it away. Establishing pasture. Restoring a big area after earthworks. Hydroseeding suits all of it, and it comes into its own on the larger areas where hand seeding is slow, patchy and expensive.

Because the mix goes down wet and even, germination is quick and the coverage is consistent - no bare strips, no seed blowing off the bank before it takes.

Erosion control that actually holds

Bare soil on a slope is a problem waiting for the next downpour. The mulch in a hydroseed mix locks the surface in place while the roots get away, so you get erosion control and grass establishment in the same job - which is exactly what you want on a fresh batter or a stripped section.

One contractor, site prep to green

Plenty of outfits can spray seed. Fewer can shape the ground first. Because earthworks is our day job, we prepare the surface properly before anything goes down - the finish is only ever as good as the ground under it. Then the hydroseeder does its pass and you're left with an even, established lawn or paddock.

Common questions

Hydroseeding

  • Germination is fast - usually well ahead of hand seeding - because the seed goes down in a moist mulch that holds water around it. Exact timing depends on the season, the mix and how often it's watered in the first couple of weeks.
